About Margaret O

I am a professional and passionate tutor with several years of experience teaching students from ages of 10 to 19, specialising in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Medical School admissions.

I am a professional and passionate tutor with several years of experience teaching students from ages of 10 to 19, specialising in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Medical School admissions. I began tutoring at the age of 14 and as time progressed, my love for teaching blossomed as I got the opportunity to mentor across a variety of platforms including charities, my university and at Westminster school. While tutoring, I am pursing a medical degree, developing skills I believe essential to be a successful tutor. I take pleasure in being able to inspire my students to take control of their learning and achieve their full potential, whilst providing key subject knowledge and skills to excel in every aspect of academic life.

I have offered tuition services for 5 years and am comfortable teaching the following:

i. Pre-Tests / 11+ / 13+: Verbal and Non Verbal reasoning, Science, Maths
ii. GCSE level: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, Maths, French, Japanese, ICT, Geography, Music, Drama, Citizenship, Religious Studies
iii. A level: Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths, Japanese
iv. University level: Preclinical Medicine
v. UKCAT, BMAT, Medical School Admissions (Personal Statement, Interview, General)
vi. Beginner’s Japanese

I believe that anyone can achieve their academic goals with determination and hard work. This philosophy is reflected in my teaching. I aim to engage with students and provoke their curiosity in their chosen topic, whilst giving them essential tips to perfect their revision and exam technique in order to excel.

My teachers in Westminster School and at UCL taught me the importance of understanding the learning objectives and using real life examples that test your knowledge beyond the curriculum – I aim to follow this approach in my lessons. I am an enthusiastic and fun tutor and work hard to create an encouraging and welcoming environment for my students. In this way, it will be possible to develop a strong bond with students to fully support their academic life.
