About me

Hi, I’m Matthew, I'm a Cambridge Engineering student who helps students master A-level Maths, Physics, and entrance exams like ESAT and PAT.

I’ve supported students aiming for top grades and competitive university places, as well as those needing structured support to build confidence and close knowledge gaps. My teaching focuses on clarity, problem-solving ability, and developing genuine understanding.

My background means I’m comfortable breaking down both straightforward and challenging material, and I’m used to pushing high-achieving students toward the thinking needed for Oxbridge, Imperial, or top STEM degrees.

About the lessons

My lessons are designed to build confidence, fluency, and precision in answering exam-style questions. Each session is tailored to the student’s current ability and goals, whether that’s consolidating fundamental content, aiming for top A-level grades, or preparing for entrance assessments. I welcome feedback from my students and I aim to match their preferred learning style.

I use live, interactive explanations supported by a digital whiteboard to walk students through both theory and application. The focus is on developing a strong understanding the core principles and learning to applying them to problems. I write original questions matched closely to the exam specification. These help students practise exactly the kinds of reasoning and calculation required for success, without going beyond what they’re expected to know.

Lessons take place via Google Meet, so students will need a google accout and an email adress. Students also need a quiet room and stable internet access.
