I am an eager Head of Department seeking a new challenge in creating a supportive environment for students to progress and achieve to their fullest potential. Being teacher of psychology, sociology, and religious education over the past three years, has highlighted to me the importance for students to gain cultural capital during their education years and so I have aimed and succeeded in incorporating this into my teaching. The knowledge gained from a teacher is not only used in the young persons’ present, but also influences their later life. I have developed skills such as being patient and understanding as well as building positive relationships with many of my students.
